Pisac, Peru. 2009. I was watching a procession in the small town of Pisac when I saw Miguel. He was stood staring at those leaving the church. We looked at each other and started to talk. He was upset by what he was seeing, explaining to me that Christianity was being forced upon people resulting in the annihilation of the Quechua culture and language. He let me take this picture, a picture of a proud man who wants to defend his Quechua traditions. He was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the image of Che Guevara.
